The NIH Offices of Science Policy (OSP) and Extramural Research (OER) are co-hosting a webinar series focused on implementing the NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy. In this webinar series, NIH policy experts will break down what the policy means for stakeholders and help the community get ready to successfully implement the policy when it takes effect on January 25, 2023.

• The first webinar, Understanding the New NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy will be held on Thursday, August 11, from 1:30–3:00 p.m. (ET) and focus on DMS policy expectations, the applicability of the policy, how to prepare a Data Management and Sharing Plan, and considerations for responsible data sharing.

• Part two, Diving Deeper into the New NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy, will take place Thursday, September 22, from 1:30–3:00 p.m. (ET) and dive deeper into specific topics and questions we’ve heard from the community, such as privacy protections for sharing data from human participants.

Dementia CARES (Caregivers Accessing Resources, Education and Support)

 

A virtual 6 weeks course designed for those caring for a relative/friend with dementia. Topics include: Dementia Live, an experiential session; behaviors; communication; how to ask for help; community resources; and caring for the caregiver. Each session lasts 1 hour. SARS research seminar: Dr. Alexandra Niclou, University of Notre Dame, “Evolutionary and Health Implications of Brown Fat Activity in Samoan Adults”

 

Alexandra Niclou, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Anthropology, University of Notre Dame, will present a research lecture titled “Evolutionary and Health Implications of Brown Fat Activity in Samoan Adults” at noon on Thursday, August 4, in LIB 110 and on Zoom (for Zoom link, please email Dr. Scott Maddux at scott.maddux@unthsc.edu).

New service: interior design (Facilities work orders)

 

This new problem type for facilities work orders was created for the purpose of requesting new furniture or to plan a significant rearrangement of furniture. Facilities personnel will work with you to assist with the planning process.

Please do not select this problem type for wall hangings; that task will still fall under Furniture Assembly/Installation or Repair.
