Recognition and Appreciation

RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION
Recognition and appreciation opportunities at HSC are based on recognizing values-based behaviors, appreciating those leading well and appreciating all of our team members.

Strategic Programs/Priorities:

1. Valubility Recognition

a. Valubility, “the possibilities that arise from all of us living Our Values every day in word, work and deed,” is an overarching recognition program with three key components:

High 5 – an “in-the-moment”, informal way to thank faculty, staff, and students for living Our Values in everyday ways

b. Valubility of the Month (VOTM) – recognizes people for going above and beyond in living Our Values. Team members submit nominations from the 16th of the previous month through the 15th of the current month. A Voting Committee reviews nominations and selects up to five recipients to recognize each Honorees are currently celebrated during a virtual recognition event.

c. Valubility of the Year (VOTY) – recognizes those truly extraordinary acts that represent HSC at our best. Nominations for VOTY typically open at the end of September. The Voting Committee rates and selects up to five recipients with input from senior leadership. Honorees are announced at the annual Valubility of the Year celebration event in December, HSC’s platinum recognition event.

2. PeopleFest
PeopleFest is an annual team member appreciation event where senior leaders thank team members for their contributions to HSC’s mission, purpose and vision. While the event is open to students, it is held during the week of National Employee Appreciation Day (the first Friday in March).

3. Supervisor Appreciation Event
OCE launched this inaugural event on September 8, 2022, to celebrate and appreciate HSC’s supervisors. This will be an opportunity to connect and celebrate leading through challenging times while having fun together. Supervisors will enjoy a catered lunch, a senior leader message, fun games and giveaways.
