Building capabilities through connection and community
DEVELOPING CAPABILITIES THROUGH CONNECTION
2022 focus group results show that individuals across campus desire more opportunities for connection. One of the ways our office is meeting this need is through our connection network. We currently have two connection networks, Supervisor Connection Network and HSC Connection Network for employees who are not currently supervising anyone. Both networks focus on connecting people to each other and to our mission, vision and purpose.
1. Supervisor Connection Network
The Supervisor Connection Network is a dedicated network for supervisors to connect, learn, and share solutions while growing together. The network provides a three-pronged approach to inform and connect supervisors to senior leaders, HSC subject matter experts and external leaders in their field.
a. Monthly Flash Calls – one way, 30-minute call designed to connect supervisors to a senior leader through an interview and provide meaningful information for the month ahead
b. Quarterly Roundtables – in-person event for supervisors to hear from HSC subject matter experts, connect with peers and share best practices with each others.
c. Semi-Annual Forum – in-person event for supervisors to learn from and be inspired by external experts in various leadership areas
2. HSC Connection Network (HCN)
HCN is a new network launched in 2022, for non-supervisors to connect, learn and grow. The network will provide quarterly roundtable events and “Lunch and Learns” to address various needs. Year 1 content will be based on the 13 Behaviors of a High Trust Leader and connection to HSC’s mission, vision, purpose and strategy.
