Re: Message from the Dean

As this first full week related to COVID-19 comes to an end, I want to congratulate you and thank you for all of your efforts to help our college mission continue to move forward in an exemplary manner.

No one knows what tomorrow, next week, or next month will bring. But we have developed contingency plans to meet any future operational needs and will do everything possible to ensure the safety of our faculty, staff and students while adhering to our mission.

HSC and SCP leadership are communicating regularly and working together to make sure we keep you abreast of the latest decisions and updates to manage daily functions. Nationally, AACP and ACPE are working collaboratively with other professional organizations to guide educational programs through these difficult times. Together, we will make difficult decisions based on ever-evolving information.

If at any time you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your immediate supervisor to discuss.

This is an unprecedented public health crisis, and we must do everything we can to mitigate further spread and keep everyone safe and healthy. Please practice social distancing, personal hygiene, and take all health precautions possible to keep yourself safe and to avoid further spread.

Given everything our college has accomplished together to-date, launching a new college only seven years ago and achieving full accreditation just last year, I have no doubt that we will make it through this challenging time together and be successful on the other side. Our students and faculty and staff are volunteering to help with various community services demonstrating compassion and appreciation for the needs of our citizens, and reflecting our core values that bind us together.

I am grateful to each of you for your dedication to our college, and thank you for your hard work and commitment to moving forward. I feel proud to be part of such a great team of dedicated people.

Be safe, be well!
