Rees Scientific Freezer Monitoring – oversight change to Research Core

Research Core Labs will be taking over the oversight of our campus-wide Rees Scientific Freezer Monitoring Program.  Specifically, Marcy Butler, Operations Analyst, and Kishor Kunwar, Research Associate, will be the main contacts moving forward.  The directions for the system have been updated on the attached as well as on Insite (Under Education and Research) to reflect these changes.  A few notes:

  • Important - Research Core is administering the system, but each lab is responsible for the monitoring of the units. This means, the lab contacts will receive notification (by email, phone, or both), and it's the lab's responsibility to respond to the alarm. Directions for accessing the system, responding to alarms, and more are provided in the directions. If there is an issue with the freezer, PD or Facilities can be contacted to address the issue.  Research Core is available for questions and to make sure the system is working properly.
  • Sign into the System – Please sign into the system and go over the directions (specifically for the phone) to make sure you know how to inhibit alarms and check the status of your unit.  This is helpful to do ahead of time so you know how the system works before it’s urgent.  You have been sent your login information and pin previously, but if you need help, let the Core Lab know.
  • Update Your Information – Remember it is your responsibility to monitor your equipment and keep your information current.  Please take a moment to review the temperature ranges, email addresses, and phone numbers.  I’ve attached the phone list for your reference since you can’t access the details.  Emails can be seen by clicking on the input, click on Manage Alarm then Program Input then Email.  If you need any changes, Core Lab can make those.
  • Calibration – The PO for calibration is being processed, and Research Core will communicate with you when that will take place.
