November 11, 2024 • News
Esme Anaab, a recent graduate of the College of Public Health Master of Public Health program (MPH Biostatistics and Data Science, Class of 2024) and a Chancellor’s Scholar (2022), is the new Project Coordinator for Project FRESH. Project FRESH is a multi-site randomized clinical trial supported by NIH to implement tech-adapted universal intervention for first-year college students at the University of North Texas at Denton (HSC PI: Dr. EY Mun).
During her graduate studies, Esme worked as a research assistant with HSC’s Department of Pediatrics and Women’s Health, where she redacted cases reviewed by the Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee. She also assisted the Healthy Start Program (Fort Worth), which provided home visitation, prenatal care, and health education to at-risk women and their infants. For her MPH practice experience, Esme interned at the HSC Center for Older Adults, where she used her quantitative expertise to visualize and interpret survey data on barriers to long-term services and supports for individuals and family caregivers.
Esme is excited to come back to HSC where she can apply her biostatistics skills and knowledge to promote healthy behaviors among college students. Reflecting on this opportunity, she shared, “I am beyond grateful to return to my alma mater as a public health professional.” Dr. EY Mun said, “Esme has been an incredible asset to our team, working well with research assistants and making significant contributions. We are excited to welcome her to our research team.” Please join us in warmly welcoming Esme back to the HSC College of Public Health.
