Overview
At the conclusion of each spring term, the College of Public Health hosts a graduation banquet to recognize the achievements and impact of their students, faculty and staff members from over the past year.
Community Partner Awards:
Super Site Award
CHRISTUS Health | Awarded to an internship site that consistently provides high-quality mentorship, professional development, and a supportive environment for MPH students. |
Super Site Supervisor Award
Andrea Semlow, Dr. Teresa Wagner | Given to site supervisors who offer outstanding support, mentorship, and professional guidance to students during their internships. |

The Excellence in Teaching Award honors a faculty member who demonstrates exemplary dedication, innovation, and effectiveness in educating and mentoring students within the College of Public Health. This award acknowledges outstanding classroom instruction, curriculum development, mentoring, and educational leadership.
Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes a faculty or staff member’s outstanding commitment, leadership, and contributions to the College of Public Health and the broader community. This award celebrates exemplary service activities that align with the strategic vision, mission, and plan of the college.

The Outstanding Faculty Research and Scholarship Achievement Award recognizes a faculty member’s exceptional contributions to advancing the field of public health through research and applied scholarship for the past two academic years (AY). This award celebrates innovative research initiatives, significant scholarly publications, and impactful contributions to population and community health.

Allie Farris
This award is to recognize a staff member who has played a vital role in making a complicated collaboration between multiple groups successful. This could include an individual who has gone above and beyond to enable collaborative and successful work.
Excellence in Service:
Steven Sutton
This award recognizes a staff member who is always willing to help others when asked while also maintaining a high quality of service to university customers. They are always positive and display a genuine desire to serve others without the need for fanfare.

Bob Crow Award: Outstanding Master’s Student in Leadership and Service:

The Bob Crow Award is given to the outstanding master’s student (MPH, MHA, MS) in the College of Public Health who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and service to the school and community while enrolled in their graduate course of study. As the former executive director of the Amon G. Carter Foundation and a member of the College of Public Health Steering Committee, which was instrumental in the formation of the School of Public Health in 1999, Bob Crow helped make Fort Worth and Tarrant County the great community it is today. |

Dean’s Award for Scholarly Excellence in Research:
Shanshan Wang | The Dean’s Award for Scholarly Excellence in Research is presented to a student who distinctly represents scholarly excellence with an emphasis on research.
The student who receives this award is then considered for our system’s highest award, the Chancellor’s Award for Scholarly Excellence. |
Kenneth Cooper Award: Outstanding Master’s Student in Research:
Shannon Scott | The Kenneth Cooper Award is given to the outstanding master’s student (MPH, MS, or MHA) in the College of Public Health who has demonstrated excellence and quality in the application of research methods in preparation of the thesis or other research activities as demonstrated by Dr. Cooper throughout his career. Measures of excellence and quality in research will include appropriate study design, utilization of appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis, and correct interpretation of results and conclusions. |
Leon Brachman Award: Outstanding Master’s Student in Academic Achievement:
Margaret McAuley-Ford | The Leon Brachman Award is given to the outstanding master’s student (MPH, MS or MHA) in the College of Public Health who has demonstrated exemplary academic achievement while enrolled in their graduate course of study.
As a member of the 1992 Steering Committee formed by the University of North Texas Health Science Center to explore the development of a school of public health in North Texas, Mr. Brachman was instrumental in the 1999 opening of the UNTHSC College of Public Health. As a Fort Worth philanthropist, Baylor All Saints Medical Center Board of Trustees member, Jewish community leader and music lover, Mr. Brachman has been honored by numerous organizations for his leadership and commitment to excellence in all his professional and personal endeavors. The Leon Brachman Award honors academic achievement as demonstrated by overall grade point average, quality of projects/presentations, and written and oral communication skills. |
