Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR).
The HSC College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) faculty have over 100 years of collective HEOR experience. The interdisciplinary team of investigators formally trained in economics, pharmacy, epidemiology, biostatistics, medicine, public health, and health policy have comprehensive research capabilities. They have collectively published over 400 research articles. They are able to offer services to conduct HEOR studies related to real-world evidence (RWE) and real-world data (RWD). These may include but are not limited to chronic disease burden (epidemiology, mortality, morbidity, and cost), diverse therapeutic areas [e.g., cancer, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, COPD, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD)], healthcare resource utilization (issues of access, cost, affordability, quality, and outcomes), Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacoepidemiology, patient-reported outcomes (health related quality of life and patient satisfaction with care), comparative effectiveness of therapies and services, and health policy evaluation studies.
Drug Discovery and Development.
The HSC College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) faculty and staff have expertise and experience with many of the techniques and assays that are useful in multiple stages of the drug discovery and development process from target identification to candidate profiling. Services available include, but are not limited to, synthesis of small molecules, synthesis of compound libraries, and formulation development and characterization. In addition, through the Pharmaceutical Analysis Core Laboratory (PACL) as well as within the laboratories of HSCCP faculty members, the HSCCP is well-equipped with instrumentation to support these services.
