26Dr. Randy Cornejo

Class of 2023 student and now graduate, Dr. Randy Cornejo was selected into the sports residency program at Johns Hopkins, where he is now completing his post-professional training, Dr. Croedjo was selected as the class speaker for s=his graduating class, presented his work on the psychological safety in the clinical learning environment for PT students, and exhibited resilience and perseverance in his journey to the DPT. Congratulations, Dr. Cornejo, for all that you have done and will continue to do!


27Nina “Meg” Wheelock

Class of 2025 student Nina “Meg” Wheelock was selected as the student representative from PT to speak to the audience at the 2023 White Coat Ceremony. Her speech was riveting, captivating, emotional and empowering.Her telling of her journey through battling cancer while still completing her studies left no dry eye in the building. Everyone agreed that she was the highlight of the event. We are so proud of you, Meg, and honored to know you!

Karyna Valencia and Melissa Vasquez

Class of 2024 students Karyna Valencia and Melissa Vasquez received competitive scholarships to attend Capitol Hill Day in summer 2023. They joined the Texas delegation and advocated on behalf of the profession for key pieces of legislation related to reimbursement, access to care and student loan relief. Kudos to them for representing HSC beyond the classroom and being change agents for this world!


Taylor Allen and Samuel Cornish

Class of 2026 students Samuel Cornish and Taylor Allen recently received recognition for top art pieces at our inaugural art night for their work capturing the experience of family members with disabilities. Prior to starting his journey at HSC, Sam describes his inspiration of becoming a PT tied to watching his dad work through the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis. Taylor became interested in the profession early in high school through her sports medicine class, and the rest is history!
