Our application process involves a holistic review of your application to include educational and professional experiences, as well as recommendations and application questions.


Spring 2026 / Summer 2026 MSLS Program Dates & Deadlines

Spring Entrance

  • September 15, 2025 – application opens in GradCAS
  • November 15, 2025 – application closes in GradCAS
  • December 1, 2025 – Deadline all supporting documents, i.e. transcripts, letters, etc.
  • January, 2026 – First day of class

Summer Entrance

  • November 15, 2025 – application opens in GradCAS
  • April 15, 2026 – application closes in GradCAS
  • April 30, 2026 – Deadline all supporting documents, i.e. transcripts, letters, etc.
  • June, 2026 – First day of class

Important: MSLS admissions committees review files on a rolling basis. The earlier your application is complete, the sooner your file will be reviewed.

Admission Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher

2. 3.0 GPA is recommended. (Candidates with GPA below a 3.0 may be considered for conditional admission.)

3. Completed application:

    • $88 Application fee   [UNTHSC current students or employees are eligible for fee waiver]
    • ALL official transcripts from U.S. and English-Canadian accredited institutions.
        • Applicants with foreign and French-Canadian credits and/or degrees will be required to submit a WES International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP) (course-by-course) evaluation. These documents should be sent directly to GradCAS. In some instances GradCAS will not accept certain electronic transcripts, in this case transcripts should be sent by mail to:

Please allow additional time for mailed transcripts to be added to your application.

        • WES will need your GradCAS ID in order to properly route your ICAP.  If you ordered your WES ICAP before you had a GradCAS ID, click here to learn how to proceed (select “GradCAS” from the drop-down and scroll down to “Additional Information”).
    • Resumé or curriculum vitae.
    • Required application questions. See application for specific prompts.
    • One letter of recommendation from a person other than friends or family members who can speak to your performance in an academic or professional setting.
    • All U.S. citizens and permanent residents (except F1 and J1 visa holders) are eligible to apply.

Additional Information:

Application materials, including official transcripts and evaluations, letters of recommendation, fee payments, official test scores and any other required items, must be received no later than 2 weeks or 15 days after the posted deadline. (For example, if an application closes on the 1st, all items will be due by the 15th; if an application closes on the 15th, all items will be due on the 1st.)

Suggested Preparation (NOT Required)

  • A degree or training in a health-related field
  • Human physiology or Anatomy and Physiology
  • Foundations of Health / Health Education
  • Basic Human Nutrition and Health
  • Introduction to Psychology or Human Behavior
