On April 4, the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences hosted its first-ever CBTS Research Day—a vibrant, day-long celebration of innovation, collaboration, and scientific discovery.

The event spotlighted the incredible research taking place across the college, featuring a lively poster session with presentations from students, a fast-paced Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, and a thought-provoking keynote address by Dr. Johnathan Tune, interim dean of the college.

A special highlight of the day was the alumni panel, which brought together accomplished graduates including Dr. Michael Donkor, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Boehringer Ingelheim; Dr. Delaney Davis, Research Scientist at the University of Texas at Arlington; and Dr. Marlyn Brookins, Founder and Chief Consultant at Insightful Intellect, LLC; who shared insights on their career paths and the impact of their CBTS experience.

The energy and engagement throughout the day were palpable. We’re grateful to all who helped make this inaugural event a success—from our talented presenters and judges to the faculty, staff, and students who filled the room with curiosity and support. Here’s to a strong start for what promises to be a cherished annual tradition!

Congratulations to CBTS Research Day Award winners
