Student-Generated Test Questions
Students generate test questions and model answers for critical areas of learning.
Helps instructors see what their students consider important or memorable, what they consider to be fair and useful test questions, and how well they can answer the questions other students have posed.
Use this at the end of a lecture or close of a discussion.
- In groups or individually, students write 2 (or more) test questions that test concepts.
- Questions can be of the following forms (this is up to the instructor): multiple choice, or short answer. Students write the question as well as the answer.
PeerWise is an excellent, free tool to use for student-generated multiple-choice questions. Follow the instructions here to access the UNT System instance of PeerWise: https://www.unthsc.edu/center-for-innovative-learning/using-peerwise-engage-students/
