The MSLS program offers two thoughtfully designed tracks to meet you where you are in your professional journey—whether you’re a practicing clinician or pursuing a career in lifestyle health and coaching. Both tracks provide exceptional training in lifestyle medicine and behavior change, with tailored experiences to match your background and goals.
Regular Track
For professionals building or transitioning into a lifestyle health or coaching career, the Regular Track offers a comprehensive foundation in lifestyle health sciences, coaching, and behavior change for individuals who do not currently hold a clinical license. Whether you’re coming from public health, fitness, education, or a related field, this track equips you with the tools to lead and inspire change.
Students in the Regular Track receive:

High-quality instruction from experienced faculty who are National Board Certified in Health and Wellness Coaching and Lifestyle Medicine

Practical training in motivational interviewing, behavior change strategies, and program planning

A curriculum designed to prepare you for board certification in health and wellness coaching (if desired)
Healthcare Clinician Track
For current or future licensed healthcare professionals integrating lifestyle medicine into clinical practice. The Healthcare Clinician Track is designed for students who are currently practicing in a clinical setting or who intend to do so in the future. This track emphasizes the practical application of lifestyle medicine in clinical care, offering advanced training, one-on-one mentorship, and dedicated opportunities for peer and faculty engagement.
Students in the Healthcare Clinician Track receive:

Personalized mentorship from the program’s Medical Director, including guidance in career development, clinical application, and professional networking

Specialized coursework tailored to clinical practice, including Practice of Lifestyle Medicine, which replaces Healthcare Systems and Wellness Program Planning (LHLT 5310) taken in the general track

Clinical skill development through immersive experiences such as case-based learning, role-play, simulation, and live telehealth practice

Support for professional growth, including journal club participation, preparation for Board Certification in Lifestyle Medicine (if applicable), and continuing education guidance

Track-wide engagement with regular live educational sessions and small-group meetings with clinical faculty to review cases, share experiences, and deepen your learning.
If you indicated interest in the Healthcare Clinician Track on your application, your materials will be reviewed by the MSLS Admissions Committee. Final acceptance into this track is based on your current clinical role or your intent to pursue a licensed healthcare profession.
