Sexual Assault Awareness Month: April 2018
The Office of Care and Civility will be recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in April. SAAM is a national campaign aimed at raising awareness of sexual violence and educating the community about how to prevent such violence. We have planned various events, tablings, and campus displays in honor of SAAM. Check out the schedule below!
The theme for SAAM 2018 is Embrace Your Voice. We encourage to to join us as we take a stand against sexual violence.
April 2-6: Justice in Motion
In honor of SAAM, we will be offering FREE group exercise classes open to the entire campus community at the UNTHSC Fitness Center all week long!
April 3-24: Campus Climate Survey
Students, take the Campus Climate Survey! By sharing your experiences, we can make our campus a healthier and safer place for all. To learn more about the survey, visit the campus climate survey website. The survey link will be sent to students only via campus email on April 3.
Join the Office of Care and Civility, the UNTHSC Police Department, and Four Star Cafe for a free cup of coffee and to learn more about sexual assault support resources and prevention..

Listening to a disclosure is a sacred space. This session is designed for students to learn how to embrace your role and your voice as a helper to create a strong foundation for safe spaces and open conversation. This workshop will be facilitated by Chase Crossno, Assistant Artistic Director for the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine. Spaces are limited to 20 students, so please RSVP. This event is a part of the Passport to Success Program.

Witness a flower dedication in honor and memory of victims/survivors of sexual assault. This dedication is brought to you by the Office of Sustainability and is part of our campus Earth Day celebration. Learn more about the Earth Day celebration.

Participate in the international conversation, Denim Day, by simply wearing jeans to school/work. Learn more HERE. This event is supported by the Cabinet, pending supervisor approval. In addition to wearing jeans, everyone will be encouraged to make the online Denim Day Promise to register your participation and embrace your voice in:
- Recognizing that sexual assault is everyone’s issue
- Participating in a national conversation about rape and sexual violence via social media
- Supporting survivors and not blaming victims
- Engaging in violence free relationships
