Thomas Diver is an experienced family medicine physician assistant practicing at the Patient Care Center. He also actively serves as academic faculty for the Physician Assistant Studies and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) Clinical Medicine programs.

As a member of the Interprofessional Education Committee at UNTHSC, Diver strives to promote the doctor-PA team concept in both practice and curriculum. He finds the faculty and staff at UNTHSC to be very open to such collaboration and feels fortunate to be on such an energetic and synergistic team.

Diver believes that to achieve optimal health, patient care should focus on a strong clinician-patient relationship that promotes a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention. He teaches students to go beyond medical history and to get to know their patients as individuals. This helps caregivers navigate patients’ diet, exercise, stress management, smoking cessation and other lifestyle choices in order to better ensure a good quality of life.

A retired U.S. Army officer, Diver has more than 17 years of experience as a practicing clinician in Family Medicine, including 12 years practice in Keller, Texas.
