Inspire Program

Leaders BannerWe are pleased to announce that UNTHSC Leadership Development Team and the Office of People Development are accepting applications for the first cohort the Inspire program, a leadership program based on Our Values and open to faculty and staff from across UNTHSC.

This program is designed to develop and strengthen leadership skills.

Inspire Purpose Statement:

Progressively develop organizational leadership competencies in formal and informal leaders, equipping them to:

  • Create a sustainable leadership culture
  • Inspire members of the team to perform at higher levels
  • Model leadership behaviors aligned with our Values
  • Demonstrate adaptability to the challenges of an innovative, rapidly changing environment

  • Applications will be accepted three times per year as outlined above
  • Applications will be submitted online:
    • Cohort 4 Application: Click HERE (Deadline June 30)

    • Along with background questions, the application includes the following short answer/essay questions:
      • What do you expect to gain from your participation in this program, and how does this align with your personal and professional development goals?
      • How will you apply lessons learned from the Inspire program in your department or unit?
      • List one of your strengths and one of your opportunities for growth.  Please provide an example of each.
      • Imagine the future of UNTHSC.  What could be? What are the possibilities? Choose one and discuss how you hope you will contribute to making it a reality.
  • Supervisor approval required for all applicants
    • Requested after submission by the Inspire development team
  • Preference will be given to applicants based on submission date

Program Structure:

  • Year-round program; Each Inspire cohort lasts for approx. 3 months
  • Three cohorts per year: Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • Approximately 33 participants in each cohort
  • Sessions will be held bi-weekly for each cohort (6 total sessions)
  • Sessions will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm typically on Fridays, with the last session from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Program Components:

  • Five 2-hour sessions, One 3-hour session
  • Preparation reading and reflections posts in Yammer for each session
  • Design Thinking Team Project
  • Three coaching sessions with assigned leadership coach
