We are an extraordinary team of trusted financial professionals focused on safeguarding, managing and growing the resources of the UNT Health Science Center, while providing objective financial guidance and strategic insight on a wide array of business matters through effective collaboration and objectivity intended to engage the leadership and optimize the financial strength of the institution.
The Office of Finance is an integral professional services support function within the UNT Health Science Center. We are a diverse group of business and finance professionals who provide objective analysis, insight and guidance regarding sound investment, debt, operating and capital budget management, while providing decision support in resource allocation and utilization. We are committed to providing meaningful financial performance information utilizing benchmarked dashboards, traditional financial reports and management/operational reports that ensure institutional leadership has the information necessary to support data-driven decisions.
The Finance team encompasses the following service areas: financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial planning and policy analysis, debt and investment analysis, cash-flow management, contract administration, business systems and analysis, contract operations and business development.
The University is comprised of the traditional education, research, clinical practice missions with an annual all-funds financial budget exceeding $300 million. Our team works collaboratively with the State Audit Office, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Legislative Budget Board, Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committees of the Texas Legislature, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, UNT System leadership, affiliated hospitals, community partners and peer institutions to advance the mission of the University.
