Mission
The mission of the Records Management Division is to provide systematic control of records regardless of medium from creation to disposition, reduce the cost and liability associated with records and information management relative to space, litigation, privacy, regulatory non-compliance; provide training and support to the campus in all areas of records and information management, maintain records, containing adequate and proper documentation of UNT Health Science Center functions, policies, decisions, procedures and essential transactions of the institution; designed to furnish information to protect the legal and financial rights of the state and of any person directly affected by activities of the institution.
Services Offered
- Administer the Records Management program within the institution
- Conduct and oversee records inventories
- Originate and approve all requests to dispose of State of Texas records
- Conduct cost v. benefits analyses of records management activities
- Develop and oversee the vital records protection program for the institution
- Records Management Training and Consulting Services
- Establish the necessary program elements to manage electronic records keeping

Maintain Policies
- Enforce adherence to records retention policies for the institution
- Manage documentation archiving including the retrieval system for inactive records
- Develop and maintain procedures to protect the security of all records
- Conduct and provide oversight for the preparation and maintenance of UNT Health Science Center records retention schedule
- Provide end user Records Management procedures education and training
