Alexa is a PhD student in the SARS program working with Dr. Scott Maddux. She has a BS in Anthropology from Florida State University focusing in biological anthropology. With funding from the Wenner-Gren Foundation, her PhD research investigates the influences of climatic and metabolic demands on human nasal anatomy and function. She is also a hobby archaeologist, having worked in archaeological conservation for two years at the Florida Dept. of State and participated in the paleolithic excavations at La Ferrassie in the south of France.
