Taunya Williams | Chief of Staff
Taunya Williams, MBA, is the chief of staff at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. She is a senior marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience in financial services, mid-stage startups, SaaS and health care. Most recently, she served as the vice president of strategic marketing for a $25 billion national blended health organization. It included one of the nation’s largest Blue Cross Blue Shield insurers and a growing regional hospital and physician network serving millions of customers nationwide.
In her previous roles, Ms. Williams was responsible for leading end-to-end marketing, operations, communications, go-to-market strategies, product marketing, branding, messaging, creative direction, public relations, crisis communications, strategic planning, organizational development and change management. Proficient in managing multimillion-dollar projects and campaigns, Ms. Williams has led several organizations through mergers, acquisitions, new market entries and rebrands.
A gifted communicator and relationship builder, Ms. Williams is passionate about leadership and strategy. She is particularly adept at building strong, high-functioning and impactful teams. She is also a published author. She has written business articles for various publications, including Forbes, and recently released her first novel.
In her role as chief of staff, Ms. Williams serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the president. She manages all operations within the Office of the President, and is the key liaison between the president, cabinet, executive council, and various internal and external stakeholders.
Ms. Williams is a proud HBCU alumna with an undergraduate degree from Hampton University. She also received her executive MBA from Baylor University and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
