Special Events

The mission of the Special Events Office, within the President’s Office, is to maintain the highest quality events, portray the Health Science Center in the best possible way, support the university’s strategic vision and enhance the institution’s identity within the community. There are a variety of internal and external events the office produces and manages including: retreats, employee appreciation events, award ceremonies, luncheons, dinners, receptions, building dedications, recognition events, Board of Regents events, holiday events etc… Through these university events, we are able to recognize and celebrate special people and moments in the life of UNTHSC. In this way, we help support and cultivate enduring relationships within the UNTHSC family and with our community partners.

Shea Patterson-Young, University Event Strategist & Protocol Officer, also serves as an internal consultant for other departments for event planning and to maintain a consistent and positive university image through consultations on events and projects. Advice on catering, venues, vendors, audio/visual needs, space planning, and general event planning, is a service the office provides. Some equipment and decor is also available to be checked out.
