Thank you for your interest in the School of Health Professions.
The School of Health Professions was approved by the University of North Texas System Board of Regents on May 20, 2004 and subsequently approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board on July 8, 2004.
The School of Health Professions
provides opportunities for a diverse student body to obtain the knowledge,
attitudes and skills necessary to serve in the health care professions and to
continue their development throughout their professional careers.
Initially, the School of Health Professions will include one academic department, the Department of Physical Therapy. Subsequent plans call for a proposed program in occupational therapy.
Currently, the School of Health Professions has received Preliminary Authority from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to present final plans for offering a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Contingent upon receiving final Coordinating Board approval, this program is planned to begin in summer or fall 2010.
Additional information regarding our proposed program in Physical Therapy can be found here as it is available.
I look forward to the future of the School of Health Professions reaching its full potential within the vibrant new horizons at UNT Health Science Center. Our goal is to develop health professions programs that are nationally ranked in the Top 10.
Again, thank you for your interest in the School of Health Professions.
Sincerely,
Warren Anderson, Ed.D., Dean School of Health Professions
