General Accounting

The General Accounting unit is responsible for maintaining sound financial records and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as federal and state regulations. This includes maintaining the system of accounts in the Enterprise Information System (EIS), by processing accounting journals and vouchers and reconciling general ledger entries. This unit monitors and reconciles all institutional bank and state appropriation accounts. This unit also provides training to departments on the preparation of journal worksheets, coordinates security for various State accounting and reporting applications, and provides resources for all departments with questions regarding journal, voucher, and bank postings.
